A New Reel in Town

There's a new reel in town.  And it's looking good!  It's one thing to be a true US made product these days.  Bozeman Reel Company takes is a step further and has launched itself as the only reel manufacturer in Montana.  With 2 reel models currently (and more in the works) BRC has upped the ante.  The SC series beckons of days past.  Immediately a classic, the SC is for the angler looking to dress his bamboo spring creek rod with some finery.  Inspired by 19th century reel designer Edward Vom Hofe, the SC is a beauty- without a beastly price. The 2-2-3 weight ($600) and 3-2-5 weight ($675) reels feature a classic click-pawl drag system. Each SC Series reel comes packaged in a wooden box with a canvas case featuring an elk antler button. The RS models came about as Dan Rice, one of BRC's 3 owners, states: The RS is our cutting-edge answer to what our guide friends wanted -- strength, reliability, durability, and precision. And that it does!  The large-arbor reel is designed to pair with a graphite rod and comes in 3-2-5 weight ($410) and 5-2-7 weight ($495) sizes. The reels are reversible and can be used with or without a clicker. And, yes, the 2 in the reel models is supposed to be there.  Catchy....  And available....
