The small town of Emigrant, at the base of the Absaroka mountain range containing Emigrant Peak, which is where it got its name, is located in the heart of Paradise Valley. The 55 mile long valley is flanked by the stunning Absaroka Range on the east and the rugged Gallatin Range on the west. The valley lies predominantly along a north-south axis, and is anchored by Livingston, Montana on the north end and to the south by Gardiner, Montana and the north entrance of Yellowstone Park. Paradise Valley was the original entrance to the Yellowstone and is still one of the primary routes for visiting the Park today. Due to its location near the Yellowstone River, Emigrant is a popular area for fly fishing, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, hiking, and mountain biking.
As is true of anywhere in western Montana, the Paradise Valley is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise! You can enjoy just about any outdoor activity known to man in the Paradise Valley, just as long as it's legal, and when you're tired out after a long day, you'll enjoy unforgettable mountain scenes dancing through your head. Paradise Valley does well to honor its name, and should you head here for a visit, just be careful. You're bound never to want to leave.
Awesome fishing opportunities abound! The Yellowstone region continues to be a hotspot of activity with renowned rivers like the Yellowstone, Gallatin, and Madison as well as Yellowstone Park and numerous smaller streams all producing well.
