 Literally hundreds of miles of trout filled water is within an easy drive from our base in Bozeman, MT. Each of Southwest Montana's rivers has a different personality, from pristine freestones like the Yellowstone River to serene tailwaters like the Missouri. There are a multitude of smaller rivers and privately accessed spring creeks and lakes in the region as well. Several options can be combined for the ultimate multi-day experience.While there are opportunities year-round, most trips are scheduled between April and early November. People often ask when is the best time to come to experience Montana trout fishing at it's finest. It's a hard question to answer. One could say you should come and fish any time you can get here because our fishing can be great all season. Mid-June through September is what most anglers consider the "prime time". But, If you are more adventuresome and enjoy fewer people on the water, fishing during the prerunoff early spring of late March through early May, or perhaps trying later in the fall -October and even early November, you might get some of the best fishing of the year! Our rivers and spring creeks often provide both solitude and incredible fishing during these times. |
