For first time anglers, fly fishing may seem to be overwhelming. Tying leaders to knots to hooks to flies, and then actually casting the rod, is a lot to learn. Our 2 to 2 ½ hour lesson located on a private pond, with our professional, patient and encouraging instructors will make what once seemed impossible - possible. We love to see the wide smiles on the face of beginner anglers who discover that fly-fishing doesn’t equal frustration. Instead, it’s the fun you have in learning that makes the experience so much richer.
Whether you choose a full day or half-day trip, there is nothing more relaxing than gliding down any one of southwest Montana’s many beautiful, prime trout-rich rivers. With state of the art hard-bottom boats and rafts, and top-of-the-line fishing gear at your disposal, our experienced, professional and likable guides will take you to prime holding water in a comfortable, fun and relaxed atmosphere. For those wanting to walk along the banks of rivers and streams, there are considerable options open to them. In some cases, walk ‘n’ wade access is the only means to get to the trout. Our knowledgeable guides will take you to the best runs and pools where fish are eager to bend your rod. Locations may include Yellowstone National Park rivers or the spring creeks of the Paradise Valley (Depuy's, Armstrong's, and Nelson's). We may also be able to arrange for access to several private ranch fisheries.
Over the years, we’ve made a lot of good friends. Lucky for you, some of them happen be owners of substantial ranch properties that are home to several of Montana’s more prized and secretive streams. Between these "hush-hush” locations, Paradise Valley’s famed spring creeks—including Depuy’s, Armstrong’s (O’Hair), & Nelson’s, there is also considerable access to incredible fishing on private lakes such as Story, Merrill, Burn’s and Sitz. Though it might be their land, you’ll enjoy its trout-filled water for a little while.
There are some locations that have sliding scale based on time of year (Paradise Valley Spring Creeks).
Some locations are bound by the General Fishing Season by state of Montana which is 3rd Sat in May through Nov 30 each year.
