Having been born and raised in Montana, and to a family with a fly shop, to say that Sam has been exposed to
the world of fly fishing his whole life is a bit of an understatement. Sam has fly fishing and fly tying
experience well beyond his age of 17, and has traveled to fish in most of the
West, Mid-west, as well as Belize, and the Bahamas. Sam has also spent
some time with Team USA Youth competitive fly fishing. His love for the sport as well as most everything outdoors shows in his enthusiasm for working with guests. He is always
willing to share his vast knowledge of the sport and the outdoors. Sam will be a senior in high school this fall with aspirations of college to follow. When not fishing or hunting, Same is found training or racing Alpine ski events at major Montana, Idaho, Wyoming and Utah ski areas. This will be Sam's
third summer working here at the shop.
Henry comes to Angler's West from Los Angeles, CA. Henry is a life long
fisherman who has grown up spending his time fishing the eastern Sierras
and the Owens river valley. He could also be found walking the
concrete banks of the Los Angeles river in search of the biggest carp he
could find. Henry completed the Sweetwater Guide School in the summer of 2016 with
aspirations of working toward being in the middle seat of a drift boat.
Henry's enjoying living in Livingston and spending time on all our area fisheries. It can definitely be a bit overwhelming when deciding where to go on a day off. Too many great fishing choices! He looks forward to working with customers in the shop and learning
from those around him to achieve his goal of becoming a guide.
Gardner was born and raised in Northern California. At thirteen he left
the West coast to attend the Eaglebrook School in Massachussetts where he got his first
taste of fly fishing. After Eaglebrook, Gardner spent three years at the Westminster School where he played high school lacrosse. He
then was accepted to St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY to play NCAA Div III lacrosse. While
attending St. Lawrence, Gardner was fortunate to not only receive a great education, play collegiate lacrosse, but also spent quality time in the Adirondack outdoors and
help run the SLU's Hunting and Fishing Club. Besides fly fishing in the Adirondacks, Gardner has been down to Chilean
Patagonia, the Jackson Hole, Wyo and Henry's Fork, ID areas plying his abilities, and now learning all that the Greater Yellowstone region has to offer. Gardner is a very personable young man and a great addition to our staff.
